The Bolivia SHB pro-agro coffee is produced by the cooperative of Caranavi Valley, La Paz, Bolivia. The cooperative was made in ***7 and is now made up of about **0 members/families from *0 rural communities within the Caranavi region; each with an average of 2 hectares dedicated to organic coffee.
Union Pro-Agro has a social mission as well to help its producers develop by providing assistance to grass roots projects in areas such as Health, Education, and roadway infrastructure. They have already managed to facilitate the registration of Women farmers, with Bolivia’s Department of Interior, in order to obtain the deeds to the land in their own names. It is a big stride because previously in Bolivia women were very rarely considered landowners. Each year the cooperative produces around *4 total containers of Fair trade Certified Organic coffee, all of which are washed, European process. They also work to provide a cooperative infrastructure in selling members products such as medicinal plants, aromatic spices, teas and herbs.
